Valencia   announced the sacking of coach   Marcelino García   after two years with the Spanish La Liga club. The 54-year-old Spaniard is credited for winning the Copa del Rey, their first trophy for 11 years, and in their centenary season. He also secured Champions League football for the club last season. 'Valencia told Marcelino Garcia Toral on Wednesday, September 11, that he is no longer first-team coach,' a club statement said. 'The club would like to thank him for his work and dedication during his time at our entity and wish him success for the future.' According to unconfirmed reports, Marcelino's relationship with the club’s owner   Peter Lim   had become unbearably strained depsite winning Copa del Rey and helping them qualify for Champions League football. Ghanaian footballer, Kingsley Sarfo jailed in Sweden for rape is released (photos

Ghana footballer Kingsley Sarfo has been released from prison in Sweden. He was released earlier than expected and has been deported to his home country, Ghana. The 24-year-old was released early this week on the ground of good conduct following his incarceration over a r-pe accusation which he denies. He was jailed for two years and eight months in the European country for two child rape counts. Sarfo had been in prison after he was charged with defilement in Sweden months earlier and all was taken into consideration for his early release. He was immediately released from custody and deported to Ghana where he is planning to restart his career. The midfielder, who took Sweden by storm with his speed and great dribbling ability, is the second Ghanaian player to be jailed in the European country following the ordeal of Kwame Bonsu.
